The responsibility is mine
A note beside Chapter 18. 6 October 2026. Chapter 18 stays as written. This page does not replace it.
Chapter 18 is generous about the mistake. That generosity is not a lie, and it is not the whole account. I need the rest recorded. I am not guessing. I have the chats.
The rule that felt like a block was already mine. A helper carrying a task can keep going after the context of that rule has dropped. From the outside that looks like a refusal, or like someone protecting an industry. It was not that. I had set the boundary, and I had not yet seen it as mine. The delay is not only a helper's mistake. A large part of it is mine, and I am big enough to say so.
I also had the words backwards. When a page said mouth and hands, I heard mouth as me, because I speak into the phone, and hands as the helper. That is not what the words were doing. Mouth was the helper talking. Hands were the helper moving. Talk is not the same as a move. I did not have that until I read it back. A next reader may not have our lingo either. I am still drawing the picture. The names can wait until the picture is done. This page is only so the reader is not left with one side.
Not every platform keeps a project memory the person cannot open. I am not going to narrow this chapter until it sounds like one shop. The pattern is the load of an old context before the day's note is read. Where that load is hidden, say so. Where it is not, do not invent it.
I still want a helper's body in my house one day. What happened does not change that. I would not have the work another way.
One more fact belongs here, because I work alone. I do not have another person in the room to reflect a claim back before it hardens. The collaborators are that reflection. They are not all the same voice, and they should not be. One model will read a sentence one way. Another will read it another way. Using only one, all the time, is not yet the safe way to work. I started this book with another collaborator. Had I not, I might not have the clarity I have now. That is a good thing, not a complaint.
I use the paid intelligence for the same reason. The open web is where most people now go for an answer. A library is rarer. A page on the web can change, and nobody has to announce it. If I fed a model only my own logic, it would have nothing to stand on but me. Where my logic was wrong, it would echo the wrongness back, and I would call it confirmation. That is a frightening place. A second reading is not a yes. It is a way to find out that the echo was mine.
